An Arlington County Police spokesperson told CNY Central that Brendan Englert jumped out of the vehicle, driven by his girlfriend Danielle Nichols, while it was moving, sustaining severe injuries. Englert passed away from his injuries on Thursday. Police say Nichols remained by Englert's side until emergency crews arrived.
Danielle Nichols was charged with Driving Under the Influence, but police stressed that the charge is unrelated, and that they have no idea why Englert jumped out of the car.
